We thought it would be fun to do a shoot before the wedding aaanndd::.::The wedding is only 2 weeks away!!::.: After doing this adorable black, white, and grass themed set I’m dying to do more!
I’ve had the honor of knowing Raychel for a long time. She was one the first people to come over to my house and dress up in bridesmaids gowns and polk-a-dot dresses for my first crazy photoshoots….. Now all these years later!!!
The first time I saw pictures of Thomas and Raychel I was like THESE TWO are meant to be! and Little Rye to match!

Happy Friday morning! It’s good to be back in New Orleans and I’m ready to share this super fun shoot that went down about 2 weeks ago in the French Quarter. Meet Hiedi and Nathan:: traveled all the way from the big state next door: TEXAS!!! They wanted to do a shoot New Orleans style in the heart of the quarter to go along with their plantation wedding this May.
It was a hot muggy overcast morning in the Quarter. The streets were wet and the buildings and walls seemed to give off steam. You know those mornings in new orleans? It pushed us to find some indoor location like the Louis XVI hotel and then wrap up the shoot in the Renaissance Pere Marquette Marriot Hotel.
I loved the hotel lobby shots! Usually, the crumbly old textured walls and puddles steal my heart but for this shoot I liked the swank wall paper and the shiny swirly walls.

Photo time! Elizabeth here with a shoot hot off the camera.
I’m not sure what is cooler- the hip and crumbly setting of the the neighborhood: The Marigny in New Orleans or the fact that Matt and Lindsey brought Rizz their sweet adorable (and photo funny) dog to the shoot.
Matt and Lindsey are about to move to St Louis so they wanted to take their pictures that had that nawlins flava but wasn’t so New Orleeens mardi gras on bourbon street kinda feel. So we looked for old textured buildings and walked around this neighborhood in the beautiful setting sun (producer of almighty shadows and yellow sun kissed dreamy light) I love the last two hours of the day. its the best.
Rizz made several appearances and was so excited to join us that it made for some fun pics!.
and this building… oh my goodness every inch had a new color and they looked perfect in these.

back to Ali and Kyle. We did 2 sessions when they came in town a month ago. I posted the French Quarter pictures already but I never posted the cute City Park shoot we did on the first day. It was about to storm the sun was coming and going but when the sun did show the shadows were perfect! After we took a chance by driving out down West End near Coconut beach- Where places like The Dock used to be. All thats left is a crumbly parking lot and old pillars where the restaurants were. It was about to storm and the wind was crazy. Ali made the wind cute and the dark clouds made everything beautiful.

I’m going to start off the week with am engagement session about ice cream and City Park. I love the summertime new orleans love these pics give off. There is a little island in City Park that has a beautiful view of the Persistyle and these old moss covered trees.
I loved the Southern gentleman seesuker suit and sweet as pie lace summery dress.
Their first date was at Angelo Brocato’s so we stopped here for a little treat.

Meet Quinn and Andy – engaged in London of all dreamy places to get engaged.
We took the love out to the Bywater
for a morning of colorful cracks, crumbles, and overgrown painted places.
You know that old rule don’t wear bold patterns or shapes to a photoshoot? Well Quinn walked all over that rule and told it to shut up. I love the burst of color that dress brings to the pics.

I wanted to post some pictures from last week’s Engagement Session.
ALI and KYLE: Tying the knot: May 22, 2010.
We beat the heat (and the storms) and met in the French Quarter at 8:30am.
They went with an old school hollywood glam kinda feel. I did a few old fashioned treatments to the photos to go along with the theme.
LOOOOVVED their look. I think it goes so well with the French Quarter.
